Gout Treatment Using Simple Painkillers

Posted October 29, 2011 by

It might sound astonishing to first time listeners but gout is a disease and its treatment is done with simple over the counter painkillers such as Panadol. This is because the initial symptoms of gout are pain in joints that steadily grow in their intensity. With painkillers or analgesics this pain is thoroughly reduced after which the remaining steps can be taken. The second step is to start the individual on inflammation reducing drugs. These anti-inflammatory drugs are either in the form of NSAIDs or corticosteroids. Both work great but they are also known to produce certain side effects.
Painkillers form a vital component of gout treatment because the pain is what makes this situation so unbearable. If the pain can be brought under control then most of the situation is taken care of. All of the rest is just a matter of waiting and watching carefully so that gout pain never resurfaces again.
